                               RESOLUTION NO. 19071
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE
                   CITY FINANCE OFFICER TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST,
                   RESPECTIVELY, AND TO SUBMIT THE SEVENTEENTH
                   YEAR APPLICATION, INCLUDING ALL
                   UNDERSTANDINGS AND ASSURANCES CONTAINED
                   THEREIN, TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
                   URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
                   BLOCK GRANT FUNDING, AND DESIGNATING THE
                   MAYOR THE CITY'S REPRESENTATIVE TO ACT IN
                   CONNECTION WITH THE APPLICATION AND TO
                   PROVIDE SUCH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AS
                   REQUIRED.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor and the City Finance
       Officer be and are hereby authorized to execute and attest,
       respectively, and to submit the Seventeenth Year Application,
       including all the understandings and assurances contained 
therein,
       to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for Community
       Development Block Grant Funding, and the Mayor is designated as
       the City's representative to act in connection with the
       application and to provide such additional information as may be
       required.
